Likeness, not glaze
Women’s headshots that keep the face, not the filter.
The common failure on women’s portraits is a beauty-filter default: smaller nose, bigger eyes, erased texture. That is not a headshot. It is a different person.

Women’s professional headshots get failed by generators in a specific way. The model has seen too many retouched beauty ads. It sandblasts pores, lifts the brow, and returns a face the subject does not recognize. Recruiters notice. So do the subjects. The lab treats that as a likeness fail, not a ‘glow-up.’
The 2026 kit included four women across ages 29 to 58. InstaHeadshots kept likeness closest on Maya and Nora. BetterPic kept texture at 100% crop. Tools that scored well on men and collapsed on women were dropped from the recommended pair.
Hair is the second failure. Tight curls, grey, and flyaways are where cheap models smear. Sit with the hair that will be worn to the interview. Do not upload a wet-hair selfie and hope for a blowout the generator cannot see.
Wardrobe: a structured jacket still reads as hired in a 48-pixel LinkedIn circle. A strapless event dress does not. The lab’s keepers for this brief were navy, ivory, and a dark knit — not evening wear.
Jewelry should be the jewelry that actually gets worn. Giant hoops the model invents will not be on the call. Makeup should be the everyday face. The generator will happily paint a magazine if the uploads look like one.
