BetterPic review: the 4K session we actually keep

BetterPic is the session we would buy with our own card if a recruiter asked for a new frame by Friday. That is not a slogan. It is what the keeper test did with 12 faces, three briefs, and a 10-second glance — the same glance a recruiter actually gives a LinkedIn thumbnail.

What we ran

Identical kit: 12 volunteer faces, ages 24–58, four skin tones, glasses on three of them. LinkedIn brief, creative brief, casual brief. We paid list price, then applied the reader code after scoring so coupons could not leak into the value math. Scoring is always at list.

Realism and likeness

Skin holds texture at 100% crop. Catchlights sit in the right place. Hair edges do not melt into the seamless. The usual tells — plastic forehead, extra teeth, warped glasses — showed up in the reject pile, not the keepers. Likeness is the harder test. BetterPic kept bone structure and age. It did not average Maya into a generic attractive stranger, which is the failure mode that kills most of the 146.

Where it loses

• Extreme three-quarter selfies in the kit produced a slightly narrower jaw on two faces.
• Print-size 4K is the point; if you only need a 400px LinkedIn circle, you are paying for pixels you will not use.
• The refund window is honest but tight once training starts. Read it before you upload.

Who should buy it
